S. The old
saying that "time fly's when you're having fun" is very
important when it comes to your wedding day... Granted
there isn't much you can do about "Uncle Bob's" long
winded speech, or smiling for 2 straight hours of
pictures... but when the lights come on at 1 a.m. you
should think "wow, that was a great party, where did the
time go!?!"
I've been causing this effect for over 20 years now and
have been affiliated with Hunters for the last 12 of
those. Some DJ's tend to cater to the pretty bridesmaids
and end up playing 90% club music (they're even known to
play a "good" song 3 or 4 times throughout the
night)....that's not my thing. I feel that everyone in
the room should have the opportunity to dance to songs
they like, and therefore I play a very wide selection of
music throughout the night so everybody has a good time.
In order to ensure this, I encourage requests so the
music is catered to the crowd, as no 2 functions are the
same. If you look at the clock and think "damn. it's
only 11:30.another hour and a half to go" you picked
the wrong DJ.
Known around the office as the "Delhi/Simcoe Connection"
for the last 7 years (and about 40 parties) I have come
to know a number of wonderful families and done
everything from weddings to 50th Birthday parties, and
even a Stanley Cup Homecoming party out that way. Cheers
guys.
Some quick math to do while planning your party...
... the first dance is usually around 9 p.m.
... 4 hours of music is 240 minutes worth.
... minus the 15 minutes for the garter and bouquet.
... leaves a maximum of 225 minutes of music.
... the average song is about 3 minutes long.
... leaving you 75 songs at the most to make a party
good, or bad.
... that's the pressure put on a DJ at every function.
Music is the only truly "Universal Language" ... my aim is
to make everyone fully bilingual by the time the lights
come up at 1 a.m. and I can do that in 75 songs or less.
Good luck with the planning and remember... once you say "I
DO" the real party starts.

JIM KONOPETSKI I started working for Barb and Ron Hunter
in 1998, and had been in the business for 6 years prior
to joining them in London. I first became a DJ in
Winnipeg, and after moving out to Ontario, I spent a
couple of years in the Kitchener/Cambridge area.
This business is a lot of fun and very interesting.
I've entertained people of all ages, and in all sorts of
places. From elegant ballrooms to a wedding by the
beach, and a riverboat cruise have been just a few of
the locations I've had the pleasure of "Dancing the
Night Away". Working at an event staged in a farm
machine shop or under a tent on a beautiful summer's
evening keeps me appreciating what an enjoyable pastime
being a Hunter's DJ is.
Weddings, stag and doe's, fashion shows, Christmas
parties, anniversaries, and New Year's celebrations are
all events I love to do. I like to bring along props
and prizes to keep the evening light and fun. I'll
bring the music, and you supply the dancing!
Acting in community theatre, and participating in
Optimist Club functions are other rewarding things for
me. Playing games and sports with my 3 sons keeps me
busy too.
Adam DeFoe

Hi
everybody, my name is Adam. I have been part of the
fantastic Hunter's DJ team for about 2 years now. Before
Hunters I hosted a weekly radio show for 5 years and
DeeJayed at various clubs and events. Music is my life!
When I am not DJing I work as a Live Sound Engineer,
Corporate Audio/Visual and Audio Production and
Recording.
When it
comes to DJing an event, I feel the music should speak
for itself. While I am more than happy to shout out
dedications, announcements or a little encoutagement to
participate, I always feel the event is about the
celebration, people and music, and not about the DJ. I
do not need to take the spotlight to make it a party.
I like to play a
good mix of music, with request and a good feel for the
crowd. While I can and do play new Dance and R&B, my
favorite is a mix of Retro 80's pop, Classic Rock, 70's
Disco tracks, and 50's/60's Rock and Roll. I can even
throw in some Country old and new if that is your thing!
So if you want
an easy going guy who knows his stuff, good sense of
humour and who feels most events should be "More Rock
Less Talk!" then I just might be the Dj for YOU!!
Steve Hickson
Music is my life and there's nothing that pleases me
more than sharing great music with people and making
their night unforgettable. Dancing and celebrating
with music is a ritual that dates back thousands of
years and it gives me great joy to continue that
ritual with people today and see the audience
singing and dancing to their favourite songs.
Since the early 90s I've been DJing at local
university radio station. I've been making my own
electronic dance music for 10 years and was awarded
the 2008 Jack Richardson Award for Best Electronic
Artist (under the name Chinese Jetpilot). Over the
years I've also DJ'd numerous weddings, house
parties, New Year's celebrations, and other special
events; and these experiences have taught me how to
make the music flow, interpret the mood and
preferences of the audience, and keep the energy
going strong.
There are few things more enjoyable in this world
than letting yourself go to the rhythm of your
favourite song. For me, those songs would come from
classic rock, Motown, funk, disco, 80s, 90's and
independent dance and rock. I am also knowledgeable
about a large range of other musical styles and I
will work with you in order to ensure that you and
your guests hear the songs that are meaningful to
them.
For those of you who long for the sound of
yesterday, I can also play records to create the
special sound that only vinyl can make.
I'd also be excited to host karaoke or a theme night
for you (e.g. all 80s). You can even ask your guests
to dress up to match the theme of the night!
If you choose me to DJ your next special occasion,
you'll be making a SOUND DECISION!!
Chris Arnsby
Chris
has an extensive knowledge of music . He especially
likes the music from the 70's 80's & 90's & can tell you
the artist to almost any song. He is an excellent
speaker and does a great job as a D.J.

Concannon To me,
being a successful D.J. is easy. All you have to do is
play what the crowd wants to hear, not in a half hour or
forty-five minutes from now, but right away. When
someone wants to dance to a song, they want it now!
That's when I play it. An empty dance floor is a
sad one, so I do my best to fill it up as often as
possible. Many people have commented on how "cool" it
is to have their request played right away. My motto is
" If I have it, I'll play it!" I have disc jockeyed ever
since I was an early teenager and love doing what I do.
I believe it shows. I have extensive experience in
doing Weddings, Stag and Doe's and Retirement Parties. I
have DJ'd Fashion Shows, Staff Parties, Christmas
Parties and many Bar and Tavern venues. I've even done
a good old-fashioned "Country" Hoedown. I would say my specialty
would be the "70's", "80's" and "90's" as well as
Country Music. For a young guy, I know my "Country
Music", both Classic and New! A great evening is always
my goal and achievement as I treat everyone at
the dance as if they are the ones who sign my pay cheque,
because they do!
Ask for me, we'll meet prior to the event to go over all
the details, and you and your guests won't regret it.
If you want references, I can provide them, just ask!
See you
at the dance!
Steve McDowell
I believe my success as a Disc
Jockey is my ability to read a crowd and play
songs that guests will enjoy! I also do my best to
play all the requests through out the night. It
makes my job easier if you tell me what you want to
dance to. With over 12 years experience working as a
D.J. I have played all kinds of shows from Video
Dance Parties , Stag and Doe's, Birthday Parties and
School Dances. I especially enjoy doing WEDDINGS and
would love to be the D.J. at yours. Call anytime to
book my services.
Dereyk Goodwin
I
am proud to be joining such an elite team of disc
jockeys. Although I am only 24 years of age, I have
been immersed in the music business since birth.
Having
professional musicians as parents, I was brought up
in a very musical household, which I now attribute
to my vast knowledge, respect and passion for all
genres and era's of music. When I am not spinning
the disc's for Hunter's, I am a very active drummer
in the London Community. I have toured Canada and
the United States numerous times with my former rock
reggae band Staylefish", whom released two
independent albums receiving airplay nation wide and
even charting in Japan. I am currently involved in
the studio drumming circuit as well as playing in a
large number of theatre productions in London and
surrounding areas. I also play with both "The
Vintage Moments" rock and roll show band as a well
as backing Canada's rock and roll legend himself,
Bobby Curtola. As a result, I know that people love
to dance which is why I strive to keep the dance
floor packed all night long, while playing all the
classics from Motown, Disco, and Funk to Country,
Rock and Roll, or whatever else you want to hear.
When you use me for your event, your wish is my
command. So if you are looking for a younger,
outgoing, and humorous individual for any of your
occasions, contact Hunters and ask for Dereyk
Goodwin.
Looking forward to partying together!
Morgen White
Morgen White is a welcomed new member with Hunters.
Currently a student
at UWO, he spends his weekends moonlighting as a DJ.
His experience began as a teenager helping out at
his father's functions - a former DJ in the Kingston
and London areas. Morgen has a diverse passion for
music that is representative of musical eras and
genres well before his years. That said, being the
youngest member of the Hunter's team, Morgen can
easily relate to younger crowds. He can get any
party going with the latest, most trending hits and
current club favourites. Song requests are always
welcomed.

"I
play what you say!!"
Let's face it... any function where music is
involved greatly depends on how in tune with the
crowd the D.J. is.
My first job is to assess the crowd then keep
everyone happy!. Happiness to me is ...a full
dance floor!
As a DJ, an empty dance floor is not a good sign,
but sometimes feet are tapping on the sidelines and
people are talking and visiting. It is much more fun
to move around, aka "dance" while talking, so it's
up to me to find those songs to get you up out of
your seats.
I have been a DJ for 15 years now. I have played
every party you can name....Weddings, Stag & Doe's,
Anniversaries, High School Dances, & College &
University Functions. I have organized a large fund
raiser/Stag & Doe as well with over 800 attending.
It doesn't matter your occasion, if you like music
and dancing, lets get together and have a great
time. If you are having fun, remember... your
D.J. is too !!
Kirk James
Hello everyone,
My name is Kirk James, and I have been a Disc Jockey for 29 years.
I started DJ'ing in 1983, during the Billy Idol, INXS, and first incarnation of Madonna years. I've worked everything from small-town community-church Dog Shows, Judge Retirement Parties, Christmas parties, University events and dances, Raves, Weddings, Stag and Doe's, Centennial Hall teen dances, and many High School Graduation Dances, to providing tech-support, and pyrotechnic support, for high school pep-rallies and air-band competitions. I was voted "Best D.J. in London" at Dr. Rockitt's nightclub, back in 1991, over many other talented D.J.'s., and have hosted radio station Video Super-shows, Corporate Challenge video pre-event parties (with thousands of attendees), Main-Stage Live-Production Corporate Challenge Events, Corporate Business Presentations, and have experience backing up live bands at a variety of locations in London and the surrounding area. I have also worked as a D.J. in many popular nightclubs, back in the 80's and 90's. Some of you may remember Diamonds (as a dance club), or Big Bob's, Ichabod's, the Bavarian, Casey's, etc..
Now, although my experience and wealth of music knowledge spans a few decades, I am up-to-date with the current music, and trends, and am quite capable of hosting any event offered; big, or small.
One of the many things I've learned over the years is that, "He, or she, who pays the piper calls the tune"; and I thoroughly believe in that philosophy. I don't play my favourite music, but rather prefer to cater to the likes and interests of the clients I work for. Simply tell Barb or Ron what you want to hear at your function, and we'll make it happen. It is your special event, and our job is to please you, and make it a favourable memory for all of those who attend.
I hope to see you and your friends, or colleagues, soon...
Warm regards,
Kirk James
